End of First Term

 The library has been open now since 28th January. We’ve  had a susbtantial increase in student numbers and borrowings and are currently enjoying a quieter time during the 2 week vacation.

The library is open with reduced hours dueing this break.                                                                              Mon-Thurs 9am -1pm 2pm -4pm  Friday 9am-1pm. 

We will be closed for the ANZAC Day Public Holiday on the 25th April and resume normal hours from the 28th April.

Saturday opening (12 noon to 5pm) resumes on the 3rd May 2008.

 

Update to Opening Hours

The  extended opening hours on Saturday start on the 23rd February.

The Library will now be open from 12noon to 5pm every Saturday during term time except on Public Holidays. eg Easter Saturday.

Welcome back for 2008

 At last, we have come back home…..to all our friendly Campus and Instutute Office staff,  why not come and visit us in our stylish library?

There have been a few staffing changes, Cate is still in Abu Dhabi  working hard to set up the TAFE Library there, while Annette has left us  for semi-retirement and will be replaced soon. We have a few new faces as well, Janet and Susan are helping in term 1.  Meanwhile the familar faces of Robyn, Maggie and Heather will be here to help you.

Extended opening hours… The Library will be opening for 5 hours on Saturday during term time starting from February 23rd.  The library hours will be 

8.30am-7.30pm Mon -Thu 

8:30am-4pm Fri   

12noon - 5pm Sat

The ‘University of Newcastle Librarian’, Annette is leaving us

Annette Dawes, the ‘University of Newcastle’ librarian here at the Port Macquarie campus has resigned to work as a Teacher/Librarian in a K-12 school full-time next year (well, she is starting semi-retirement and only working 4 days a week).

Annette would like to thank you all for your friendship and kindnesses over the past two years and wishes everyone an enjoyable, safe holiday break - and hopes that you all come back bright-eyed and refreshed ready for the next year. Seasons Greetings to all…

We are back in our stylish, extended, renovated library!

We are moving!…at last!

The library is moving back into our newly refurbished building over the Christmas break.

We will be CLOSED from 3 December 2007 til 29 January 2008.

We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year, after you have all had an enjoyable, safe holiday season.

Moving the Library…..Soon!

The Library will be moving back into its renovated and expanded space from 3rd December, 2007. Unfortunately that means that all books are due back by 23 November, 2007 to allow for checkin, packing and removal of the system computers.

The library will be closed from and including the 3rd December, 2007 and will re-open on the 29th January, 2008. 

All the Library staff hope that you all enjoy the coming break and we will see you again next year.

Robyn is still acting up as Library Manager until the end of November.

Weeding of the Library collection

We are currently having a very close look at what needs to be weeded from the Library collection. Out of date materials or rarely used items, (books, videos, CDs, DVDs), could be deleted from the collection.

If you have any particular favourites and want them kept, please get in touch with the library staff to ensure that they are not removed from the collection.

Also, if you have used any materials for your classes that you think need updating, please get in touch with the Library to arrange for the purchase of new items.
